TEXAS REGIONAL COLLABORATIVE FOR EXCELLENCE IN MATHEMATICS

The Texas Regional Collaboratives for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching were formed to improve the academic achievement of students in mathematics through teaching professional development. The ESC Region 15 is proud to be selected as one of the twenty-four regional collaboratives across the state. ESC Region 15 will receive funding for the Texas Regional Collaborative for the 2011-2012 school year.

 



West Texas Middle School Math Partnership

Learn. Teach. Mentor.

The West Texas Middle School Math Partnership offers exciting graduate education opportunities for select middle school math teachers. Educators selected from Education Service Center Regions 15, 17, and 18 will become WTMSMP Fellows and:

  • Complete 3 semester hours of graduate level mathematics course work each summer for 3 consecutive summers at a university within their region.
  • Participate in regional theme conferences on issues of importance to their regions.
  • Participate in curriculum development for courses for future middle school math teachers.
  • Receive annual stipends of $3000 per year for three years, plus all travel expenses associated with WTMSMP activities.
  • Become teacher mentors at their regions.
