Texas Evaluation & Support Systems
T-PESS & T-TESS
The Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) and Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System (T-PESS) are the new evaluation systems for the state of Texas. They are designed to support teachers and principals in their professional development and help them grow and improve as educators and administrators. T-TESS and T-PESS will be implemented statewide in the 2016-2017 year.
T-TESS July 31-August 2, 2017
T-PESS August 8-9, 2017
Registration is now open for both sessions.

Beginning in the 2017-2018 school year, appraisal systems in Texas, whether the state-recommended system or a locally developed system, will need to include a measure of student growth at the individual teacher level. Districts have four options for measuring student growth: 1) student learning objectives (SLOs); 2) portfolios; 3) district-level pre- and post-tests; and 4) value-add measures (VAM) for teachers in state-tested subjects.
One day training on SLOs and portfolios will be provided by the ESCs. Participants will include campus administrators and/or superintendents, lead teachers or department heads.
