Introduction

Step back to the mid 1700’s when time spent with MTV or computer games would be spent reading the Bible of plowing.  Let’s take a journey to an era when freedom wasn’t taken for granted.

 

Task

You will be assigned a person of the Revolutionary Time Period to research and learn more about. You will label a map of the colonies, prepare a speech on the opinions of the war from the standpoint of the person you have chosen, and write an essay relating the learned facts of this time period to the novel April Morning.

 

Process

You will be assigned one of these topics to learn more about:

 

1.      a mother

2.      a battle

3.      founding father of any colony

 

 

Responsibilities:

1.      Label a map of the colonies and indicate where the conflict broke out first.

2.      Research your assigned topic.

3.      Present a two minute speech discussing your findings relating to your topic.

4.      Write a two to three page essay relating learned facts to novel (include list of sources).

Evaluation

Individual grades will be given on the map, speech, and the written essay.

Conclusion

You should have a greater appreciation for obstacles faced by a cross section of society during the Revolutionary War.
